The History of Checkers
The game of checkers is a very old game, thousands of years. The oldest checker board game that mankind has was unearthed in Iraq and carbon dated to be over 3,000 years old. It was different from today’s game of checkers. It had only eight checkers on each side of the board. This game was played throughout the Middle East and even in Europe until around 1,500 years ago A Frenchman changed the game by increasing the number of checkers to twelve checkers on each side of the board and put them on a 64 square Chess Board. The game today is played on that board and it is also called a checker board.
USA Super Checkers is a new checker board game and it is played by four players. This new game has 48 checkers, 12 red 12 white 12 blue and 12 black. USA Super checkers has a 160 square board with the 64 square Chess/Checker board in the center so you have two games on this new game of checkers. When playing USA Super Checkers you may play as partners (see the rules). The power of the pieces have changed, little man, king, queen, and super checker (see the rules). The game of Chess may be played on the 64 square center of new game board (Chess pieces not included). Collectors don’t miss out on this first run of this game.
